Jacqueline Joosen

Jacqueline Joosen was born and raised in The Netherlands, where her lifelong love of art was nurtured in a dynamic, creative family setting.

From an early age, Jacqueline exhibited a unique artistic flair, establishing an innate creative instinct that propelled her on a lifelong artistic journey.

In 1982, she emigrated to Australia, a move that would deeply influence her artistic outlook. She gained her qualifications in Advanced Art & Ceramics at Dandenong Art College in 1989-1993,   Diploma of Visual Arts at Swinburne University, Melbourne in 1999 and an Advanced diploma in Engineering Technology (gold & silversmith) at NMIT, Melbourne in 2004-2009. Jacqueline originally established herself running her own ceramic studio in Healesville, Victoria, supplying local Galleries and gift shops, while balancing the demands of raising a young family.

Being diagnosed with arthritis in 2020 made silversmithing difficult, which is why she turned to  painting, a medium that offered new creative freedom and a way to continue making art despite her physical challenges.

Eager to learn more about the new medium, she graduated the Art2life Visionary program at Nicolas Wilton Art2life Academy in 2021.

Among her most rewarding accomplishments, Jacqueline’s first solo show ”Resilience”in 2022 holds a special place, encapsulating the essence of her abstract works and her prowess as an independent artist. With her work featured regularly in exhibitions by the Port Douglas Artists Inc. group and being presented at the Affordable Art fair in Melbourne (2024) and Brisbane (2025), her abstract pieces have been recognised as provocateurs of emotions, eliciting a depth of sentiment from the beholder.

She has been a finalist in competitions such as the Unearth Art competition and the Revival Art & Design competition in 2023, and a finalist of The Art2life International online Exhibition in 2022.

When not painting, she pursues interest in Interior design, always guided by an eye for harmony and the interplay of elements.
